Welcome to our 40 Days of Defeating Doubt!

Do you have doubts about God?

Do you ever wonder if the Bible is just a myth and that some things about Jesus are impossible to believe?

If you answered yes, you are not alone.

After the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus, it seems that many of His followers were struggling with doubt. Thomas even went so far as to state that he would never believe unless he was able to touch the holes in Jesus' hands and feet.

Jesus knew that the early believers would struggle with doubt. Acts 1 states that he appeared repeatedly to the first believers over a period of 40 days giving them "many convincing proofs" that He was and is alive.

It has been my experience that those who spend time in scripture reading and prayer each day struggle much less with doubt than those who rarely read their Bible.

Why?

Because the Bible contains "many convincing proofs" concerning Jesus and His ministry here on earth among his people. Over the next 40 days (Starting on Monday June 30th),  we will read through the Gospel of Luke together as a church.  Luke is the author of both the Gospel of Luke and the Book of Acts and took great care to investigate the life and ministry of Jesus and create an accurate account of His life.

Consider Luke 1:1-4

Many have undertaken to draw up an account of the things that have been fulfilled among us,just as they were handed down to us by those who from the first were eyewitnesses and servants of the word. With this in mind, since I myself have carefully investigated everything from the beginning, I too decided to write an orderly account for you, most excellent Theophilus, so that you may know the certainty of the things you have been taught.

So obviously, if Luke wrote his gospel so that Theophilis wouldn't doubt, then reading through the book of Luke together is a good way to defeat doubt in our own lives!!

Join us in this journey from doubt to faith!!
